Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation restores abilities after injury/illness. Tailored therapies ensure success. Regain independence and quality of life.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Often referred to as "muscle stim" the therapy involves low levels of electrical impulses delivered to the injured, painful tissues to reduce pain and speed healing. Often described by patients as a pleasant, "tingling" sensation, or "electrical massage" these impulses stimulate the body to release natural pain relievers, called endorphins. These endorphins reduce pain and inflammation, thereby promoting faster healing of the injured tissues. This therapy is often used to treat acute or chronic pain, as well as strains or sprains of the muscles, joints, and soft tissues of the spine and extremities
Ultrasound
Not to be confused with diagnostic ultrasound, which is commonly used in prenatal screening, this is a therapeutic procedure that uses sound waves to treat:

-
tendon and ligament injuries
-
muscle and soft tissue injuries
-
scar tissue
-
arthritis and bursitis

Ultrasound is useful for resolving chronic inflammatory conditions and has a micro-massage effect that enhances fluid exchange to promote tissue healing. Additionally, ultrasound has been shown to improve local blood supply and stimulate reconstructive cells, providing rapid, initial wound strength. Ultrasound also promotes the formation of scar tissue that is as similar as possible to the parent tissue. Ultrasound is a painless procedure and most often the patient cannot perceive any sensation except slight warmth when it is applied.
Flexion-Distraction
Flexion distraction therapy aims to reverse spinal disc compression by gently stretching your spine. A special table (sometimes called a Hill table) provides the movement necessary to stretch your spine. You lie face down on this table and your chiropractor secures your ankles using a comfortable strap. Next, the table will move the lower half of your body up and down in a slow, rhythmic motion. As your feet lower to the floor, your chiropractor may also provide gentle pressure to your spine to enhance the effect. This movement gently stretches your spine, pulling the vertebrae further apart. Since your discs are flexible and spongy, they are decompressed and restored to their natural state. This is similar to how you would clean a sponge in your sink. (In fact, make sure you drink plenty of water after your appointment, as this is when your discs are most able to absorb hydration.)
Soft Tissue Mobilization
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization - IASTM treatments were developed by experienced medical professionals through years of detailed research. The use of these tools and their effectiveness has been scientifically validated over and over again. IASTM is another option to resolve pain and tightness in the body. This approach to fascia work reduces friction which allows a preciseness, sensitivity and depth that cannot be accomplished with the hands, knuckles elbows etc. IASTM instruments make it easier to detect and treat fascial dysfunction. They magnify the abnormalities (scars, restrictions and adhesions) in the fascia and make it easier to locate the area to treat. Using a tool focuses the force through an area smaller then your finger with less friction. This allows a more efficient treatment. The goal is to trigger an inflammatory healing response. This will stimulate the production of new collagen and proper, more functional, less painful healing. Benefits of IASTM Decreases overall time of treatment Allows faster rehabilitation/recovery Reduces need for anti-inflammatory medication Resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent Clients can continue to engage in everyday activities.
Traction
Traction therapy is often used as a part of physical therapy and can be applied to the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions of the spine. It is also sometimes used to treat conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, and degenerative disc disease. Mechanical traction: The process is special as it includes using mechanical devices to stretch the spinal vertebrae and muscles. The procedure will allow intermittent and continuous stretching while you are on the traction table
